• Using the link above go to the map of slavery in the world today.
• Click on the continent that you come from.
• Write down three facts about slavery in the region of the world you are from

2. Writing Prompt

• How would you feel if you were a slave? If you were forced to work a very hard and dangerous job without being paid? If you were owned by another person and not able to live a free life? If you were not allowed to get an education, or marry, have children, or live a happy life?

3. Slavery in America - reading #1

• Article - "Slavery in America"
• Write down 3 facts about Slavery in America that you learned from the reading
• Using the Flashcard app - make a flash card for the 5 vocabulary words at the end of the reading. Also, create a flashcard for the words: plantation, permanent
• Write down questions about anything you don't understand
• Read as a class and answer any student questions.
• Student fill out the "Slavery in America" idea-web

4. Transatlantic Slave Trade - Notes

• watch/listen/read PPT about the slave trade
• answer the questions on the slave trade note sheet  

5. The Transatlantic Slave Trade - reading #2
